After shutting down and turning off the system, cdrecord says: "The unit seems

Also tried by lowering the speed for the cdrewriter to 20 MB/s (because it's
an ultra narrow drive), disabling wide negotiation and disconnect, all with
the same result above. So I couldn't make cdrecord write to cdr's or cdrw's.
That system is now going back to my friend, so I won't be able to try again.
