Well, I just finished reading a book called "Gold and Strychnine" by Roy
.
Mayo that talks about trapsing through the woods to find old Ghost towns,
Ghost
Cabins, and Lost Gold Mines - in Northern Idaho. But the first of the gold
rushes started in california. Might be fun to try and find some National
Forest in CA somewhere near where you live (or if there isn't any where you
live, then SOMEWHERE) and learn a bit about what the pioneers and mountain
en
experienced, and what originally brought them to the West. It sounds really
fun to me. Thought I would suggest it.
