Allen,
   For both Telix and Quicklink the following string should work just fine:
AT&F&C1&D2
You could use a setup string a mile long and manually set everything included
in the factory default (&F), but I prefer to keep them as short as possible 

Do you get the 'data subpacket too long' error on a consistent basis?  That
just looks like it may have been caused by a burst of line noise..
