With NW 4.x running under OS/2 you actually can. And it works surprisingly
well, too. I'm working for a hotel software company, and in one situation we
had
the following problem:
An NT 3.51 server also had to run 2 simple DOS tasks to interface between the
property management system, the PABX and the computer that runs their keycard
software. Somehow we couldn't get that server to behave in an orderly and
stable
manner, and our Win32 version of the interface software wasn't ready yet...
So we replaced NT with OS/2 Warp 3 and NetWare 4.1, and let OS/2 take care of
the 2 DOS tasks. This setup turned out to be surprisingly stable, and the
network was much faster than with NT on the same server!
Regards,
Erik
