The last few times I have updated an echo I get an error that said
"Invalid keyword: >From". I guess that means the first line of an
email updated doesn't need the "From email_address" line anymore?

I'm also wondering if there is a BND server that we could netmail
the updates instead of email, or is email a better option? I
don't have a modem here so I would need a BND node to poll or
continue updating via email.
