Go to http://www.pet-manual.co.uk/ and delete the threads you created, or just all the posts you made. All your posts and others will still exist in the *proper* usenet. That seems to stop the dreaded 'repost syndrome'. To continue participating in rec.pets.birds you can download a newsreader and find a free or lowcost news-server - or your ISP may provide one free of charge for their customers. The process to use a newsreader involves setting it to access the news-server, then download the list of newgroups (once only) and finally subscribe to any and all newsgroups you wish to (and there are probably over 40,000 to pick from) such as rec.pets.birds You can get past messages on any newsgroup, or do a 'catchup' on the subscribed group(s) so that you only get the current and future messages. If you have any questions, ask. --- UseNet To RIME Gateway {at} 2/20/05 9:24:47 AM ---* Origin: MoonDog BBS þ Brooklyn,NY 718 692-2498 (1:278/230) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 278/230 10/345 106/1 2000 633/267 |
