- Why won't Netfoss work on IPV6.. same answer :)

I have installed a SixXS tunnel on my BBS and when it runs it creates a
virtual LAN network device using a TAP driver I also had to install.

What happens is that when this tunnel is up and the TAP driver running, users
connecting to the BBS (internet or internal LAN) can not access any door
games. The door games are all reporting carrier dropped and then a user is
returned to the BBS.

When I shut down the tunnel / TAP driver things work as normal.

I upgraded the Netfoss ver I was using from 1.11 to 1.12a but no joy same
issues.

I am unsure if it

a) The way I have each of my doors / netfoss configured - although I suspect
this is not the issue given it's happening across 3 different doors

b) the tunnel .exe and/or the .TAP LAN driver causing Netfoss the issue.

c) Mystic (BBS I use) perhaps having an issue creating the correct metadata
via key variables that are being passed to Netfoss at the time a door is
called... when the tunnel / TAP are running.

for c) I can do a bit more digging at /temp folders to look at drop files
etc. at the time the door is called when the tunnel is up vs when it is down.

For b) it's harder to diagnose as the tunnel .exe invokes the .TAP so I would
need to read up a bit further to see if there is a way to start the .TAP on
it's own.

I may also look to run a door without the the tunnel and then start the
tunnel once a game is in progress to see what that does - although I can
guess :)

So yep, good times.. sigh

Best, Paul
