  Sorry to burst your bubble, Janis, but doves are ground feeders.
  They'll be on the ground around the feeder while all the others are
  squabbling up above. They also like whole grains and small peas (seed
  crop peas) above almost all else. They're not much enthused over suet
  or many other bird "treats."
