RB>Lot's of unscheduled landings here at Denver over the
RB>years, not only American.
I even made one at Rapid City, SD. once.
RB>I'll insert my two cents worth here on three engine ferry.
RB>The simulator is a good place for PROCEDURE, but for the
RB>crews that are going to make the flight, It is my
RB>recomendation to at least use the aircraft for an
RB>acceleration test up to at least VMC by feeding in
RB>symetrical power on the good engines.
I certainly agree with you and also feel that it should be done
certainly as a last resort with full totally trained crews as you
suggested above.
RB>There is NO known data to program into a simulator on three engine
RB>ferry. It is all done by guess. Data would have to be for each
RB>portion of the acceleration with power and density
RB>altitude.
I basically agree.
RB>Simulators are just BOOT STRAPPED to try and simulate the real thing
RB>on this.
I agree again. If you have ever been in on certification of Simulators
and I am sure that you have, then you will understand when the
programers are there wanting to know did it preform like the aircraft
would. They are only technitions and are working with codes and
numbers.
