| subject: | Is Pluto a planet? |
-> Originally, a planet was something that "wandered" across
the sky. There we
-> five of them.
No. There were seven. The sun and moon wandered across the sky, so were
considered planets. The seven days of the week were named after them.
In English, we can still discern this in Saturday (Saturn), Sunday, and
Monday (Moon). In other languages such as French or Spanish, the days
Tuesday to Friday are still recognizably named after Mars, Mercury,
Jupiter, and Venus, in that order.
