When using the desktop, and hidden files are not set viewable,
they are NOT copied over from one window to the other, because not selected.
So first select view hidden files also.

I never used rsync, and cp very little.
Mostly I am using desktop windows for copying files,
sometimes by showing the hidden files before starting copying.
That's the failable trick you have to know.
