| subject: | RES: EleBBS: NetFoss and L.O.R.D |
* EleBBS Support List Hi Mike, I'm using ZOC v5.06 client (ssh protocol), debian linux Telnet client and LORD 4.07 (release). I'm gonna test again with other clients, and using each client separately for trying to discover if there are any behavior changes... Thanks for your attention! So, I've rolled back to version 0.9.1 and everything backs to > normal. I have seen this issue with the older (beta) versions of L.O.R.D when using the Windows telnet.exe as the terminal. However when I switched to a better terminal such as Mtelnet then it works fine. The issue also occured using other fossil drivers. I recently upgraded to the L.O.R.D 4.07 release version, and in this version I have not seen the issue even when using telnet.exe with the new NetFoss. I am not aware of any changes between NetFoss 0.91 and 0.9.2 which could cause this. Much older versions of NetFoss had code to work around another issue in older versions of L.O.R.D that had to do with a carrage return being translated to carrage return + line feed characters (a dot to appear when a user presses enter), but the work around was removed in NetFoss 0.82 and later because it caused zmodem transfers to fail. (and that issue was fixed in L.O.R.D 4.07beta). It's possible there is something I have overlooked, so please let me know the following: What version of L.O.R.D are you running (and is it beta or release). What terminal program are you using to telnet to EleBBS.
