Hello,
GH>In Canada, we had some and few mini-scandal regarding people
  >taping cellular conversations (especially some ministers ...
RS: I remember that scandal. Well, Radio Shack is hurting itself since
RS: there are a few dealers mentioned in Monitoring Times that will ship
RS: unblocked scanners south of the border. If I were to get a scanner
RS: today, that's the path I'd take.
That's too bad, but i think that RS just follow the governments
requirements in each countries for specific material (ie:
scanners,etc).
RS: Anyone buying a scanner has to be a fool to buy a crippled radio.
RS: If it does not have full frequency coverage, I do not want it.
That's also my point of vue. One exception : my 2004 does not
cover frequencies from 520 to 760 Mhz but it,s ok for me since no
services (except TV) use this band in my area, and i don't have any
uses of listening to the TV audio or...video...
GH> By the way, i went trhough many RS store in my area, and none of
  >them received the new 97 catalog yet.
RS: I got mine just the other day-free.
Just how lucky you are down there in the US! :) )
Do they have any new amateur stuff this year ?
