| subject: | Furminator |
To All: I think it was here that I was some talk of this dog grooming tool. I mentioned it to my daughter who has a rescue yellow lab who is his spring molt! They can brush him for an hour a day and still get a plastic grocery bag full the next day. Anyway, they received one of these Furminators from Pete's sister for Christmas. I saw the thing on Friday afternoon and would NOT USE IT ON ANT OF MY DOGS! Have a very close look at a set of barber clippers. This Furminator looks like the bottom fixed blade of the clippers! It is very pointed and sharp and would likely cut into the dog's skin on most dogs. You MIGHT be ok on a shaggy newf, bernard, or sheepdog, but I would not try it on a lab or any other dog with relatively short hair. The tool I saw was about 4" wide and manufactured with a handle for use on animals. However, the material and construction are that of a barber clipper blade. If anybody wants more info, I *could* take a few digital pictures for you. --- Thunderbird 2.0.0.12 (Windows/20080213)* Origin: The Eastern Star - Fidonet Via Your Newsreader (1:123/789.0) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 14/300 34/999 53/558 90/1 106/1 120/228 123/500 134/10 140/1 SEEN-BY: 222/2 226/0 236/150 249/303 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1410 1418 SEEN-BY: 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 396/45 633/260 267 712/848 800/432 2222/700 SEEN-BY: 2320/100 105 200 2905/0 @PATH: 123/789 500 261/38 633/260 267 |
