From: Randall Parker Bill, I probably should have asked him more questions since I just got a reply from Jacob Sullum: Dear Mr. Parker: The 1852 case, which the Supreme Court has repeatedly cited in double jeopardy rulings, is Moore v. Illinois, 55 U.S. 13. The Black quote, contrary to what Bill Lucy seems to think, is not from Green v. United States. It is from Bartkus v. Illinois, 359 U.S. 121 (1959). It's not clear to me what Mr. Lucy thinks I got wrong, but it seems he does not know as much as he thinks he does.
