GK> I really enjoy the punch of a kickdrum. I've always been annoyed

GK> or earsplitting volume). It seems to me the solution is to use a
GK> 15" woofer with it's own amp for all frequencies below the kick
GK> drum, and a pair of 8" woofers with their own amps for the kick
GK> drums. I just don't know where to cross them over.
A pair of 8" for bass drum? I don't see the need for anything that fast
for that particular instrument. I am fond of using 18" for LF
reinforcement, crossed over at 80 cycles to 15" drivers. For small
venues (clubs, bars, etc.) I like 4 18", 4 15", and a pair of good
mid/high packs, and 8 channels of amplification with appropriate output
for each cabinet. Take care.
