People of my level of tall stature (5'1" and dont you DARE delete that 1" as I'm proud of it!) learn that the hunched posture and the riding of long lean racer bikes is useless in the long haul. Cute for fun and if into looking 'cool' them down curled goat horn shaped handlbars work ok. Real live use to get to and from work every day and bring home the groceries, that style is useless. The more angled your back is to reach the handlbars, the less useful the bike will be for true daily transport. > One thing I can't understand are tall guys like myself (6'1") and taller > riding these little kids size bikes. Mostly the fold up sorts you can take on the train. Works well enough if you need it. Saga Japan is a 1 hour train from Sasebo. Ships are 2-4 miles depending on pier berthing from the train station (call it another 10 mins or so). New workers would have those. Established ones would have 2 bikes, one at each end of the train station. Tosu Japan is only a little further. Grin, traffic jams in Sasebo tend to be Bicyle riders who at peak hours just take over the base side lanes. I recall the estimate was 2,000 of the 5,000 workers and we all questioned it. They based the estimate on how many had registered the bicycles with the base. xxcarol --- SBBSecho 2.11-Win32* Origin: Shenk's Express, shenks.synchro.net (1:275/100) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 11/200 331 14/250 18/200 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/2 187 SEEN-BY: 138/666 140/1 222/2 226/0 236/150 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 SEEN-BY: 261/1404 1406 1418 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 396/45 633/260 267 285 SEEN-BY: 712/848 801/161 189 2222/700 2320/100 105 200 5030/1256 @PATH: 275/100 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
