One of the baby gates is the heavy plastic type that wedges in a doorway.
That didn't work!! So we turned it 90 degrees and slid it between the wall
and entertainment center on one side. On the other side, is slides between
a 42" dog crate and some kitchen shelving. That makes for a 49"
high roadblock. In another doorway, I hinged a heavy sliding wooden baby
gate on screw eyes and attached a second gate to the top. To latch, a bolt
drops into a screw eye on the bottom and a slide latch locks the top. It
may not be the most beautiful thing in the world, but it's functional in
this old house!
