Hello Ronnie,
Well, alot has happened since I left you that last message.
My a-mother said that she is puzzled by the information I found in
the Buffalo City directories, because she is pretty sure that Leroy's
last name is Ames. In fact she said that she thought Leroy was Viola's
brother-in-law. So, I'm back to thinking that his name is Leroy Ames.
RD> Plus in that info that you saw did it give any information
RD> about other children living there or occupations of the occupants?
The directories do not list anyone under 18 years of age in the household.
Here's the other thing. We also stopped at a hospital in my birth city
and asked if I was born there. She said you can write a short request
and we will look when we have time. Today, I got a copy of the request
stating, that Viola Wiltse was a patient at that hospital on 12/18/49,
my birthday! So now I know what hospital I was born in.
I wonder how much more information they have there?
Today I sent a request to Albany, NY for my original birth certificate.
I kind of doubt that they will sent it to me, but you never know!
I'm thinking that if I could get that original birth certificate, that
would be proof of relationship and maybe I could get Viola's records at
my birth hospital. I don't want to go there and ask, until I'm sure I'm
asking the right way.
I have hooked up with an Adoptees list on the Internet and they have also
been very helpful. Just like this message area, reading what other people
do and how they do it is very helpful.
Just saying that Viola was at the hospital on my birthdate was exciting for
me. It's like a connection, ever so small, but still a connection.
I'll keep you posted, Ronnie. Take good care.
Until later,
Ann
