It would take some getting used to, but would reduce message sizes in the
mailbase, and in transit by 2% or so...



Hmmm... Why not a new .SQ?-oid message base using either 7/8bit or the GNU
gzip compression? .SZ? messagebase anyone? Means a new version of SQuish,
or at the least an updated MSGAPI (D'OH, DOS users)...
