From: Larry Watson On Sat, 18 Mar 2000 22:14:47 -0500, the venerable "Richard Hong" did speak thusly: >And not working hard when one >doesn't have to is yet another symptom of sin. The sinless man would work >hard even if they wouldn't get poor if they failed to work. Hmmm. I don't remember where it says that. That man should work hard even if they wouldn't get poor for failure to do so. Is this particular conclusion documented in the Bible in unambiguous language? BTW, I've intended to ask about this previous thought of yours: >Giving help to someone in need doesn't necessarily >involve stripping them of their self-esteem; our way of doing it does. I think you're glossing over an inherent characteristic of humans. Are there any calculations in your conclusion that include pride? This is pride in the recipients I'm referring to. And, additonally, what exactly in "our way of doing it" strips them of self-esteem? Should we hold a televised awards ceremony for all recipients of government help just so they can overcome their dimenished sense of self? --low --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
