Yep, i never treated dogs all the time I grew up for it. First dog i
treated with preventative was Buddy back in the '80's. I'd heard of
heartworm before but didn't know there was preventative until then. NOt
sure if they just didn't have it or what. My grandfather lost a dog on the
farm to it when I was a small boy, I recall that one. Grandpa's farm dogs
seemed to live to be 6-8 years old or so. Buddy lived to be 13. COnversely
our former rOtt who had heartworm already was about 14.
I treat our rott we have now with the preventative once a month, and use
the frontline. I tried going to the vinegar stuff, but when Kathy was
hospitalized and I spent time with her the vinegar regime went out the
window, so it was back to frontline.
Btw I say the same thing about people. Amazing we were able to live at all
without this "drug stuff" .
Regards,
Richard
