It depends on the job, also. C has its strengths and its weaknesses, just
as all programming languages do. However, when you get down to the heart
of the matter, it doesn't matter what language is used, as long as the job
gets done. C is an ancient language. So are FORTRAN and COBOL, both still
in heavy use. Pascal was created in 1971, IIRC (don't quote me on that).
So I don't get the crap about "today's technologies". Nearly all
of our high-level programming languages currently in use are based on
ideaologies that are decades old.

That is, unless you count Brainf*ck in there somewhere. :)

It doesn't matter if I use Pascal, C, BASIC or APL: the semantics are the
same, just the syntax is different.

Along the same note: opinions are like assholes. Everyone's got one. Some
are bigger than others and some just stink. Personally, I think most C
programmers are arrogant jerks. But that doesn't stop me from talking to
them. :)

When it comes to my personal programming, I prefer Pascal and always will,
just like I love my OS/2. I've withstood 10+ years of flames and insults
from people because they're too narrow-minded to see that it doesn't matter
what's used, just as long as the job gets done.

Later,
Sean
