Ah, Alan Simpson!  He taught in San Diego when I was first learning dBASE.
Nice fellow and a good instructor.  He did a book on Lotus 1-2-3, too, if I
remember correctly.  Quite prolific -- as is Miriam.  Although I prefer
Miriam's works to Alan's, I still have fond memories of his classes.
