There are 6 FCC alloted RC channels designated in the 27 Mhz Band. And
#6 is the shared with the old CB band 27.255

There is also RC alocations in the 72 and 75 Mhz area.
the 72 Mhz allocations are for RC airplanes only and the 75 Mhz band is
for RC cars and boats only.

I used to go down to the Torrey Pines Cliffs here in San Diego and watch
the RC gliders.
I also liked to watch the Full sized gliders being winched off form the
glider port runway using a chrysler Hemi powered winch but the Hang
gliding people have taken over and the full sized gliders not operate
out in the Warner Springs area.
