I'm not so sure. I know that a certain IT support & services comp
(outsourced IS) here in the UK has cross trained a lot of it's windows
& unix people to linux.
I have also seen a large rise in the number of job vacancies requiring
linux admin skills.
It's a simple supply & demand economics thing. If there is a demand for
linux admins a bunch of un/semi-employed IT people will quickly start
self/course based training as that is where the demand is.
i.e no reason why in fairly quick time linux admins can't be "dime a
dozen" too. Many people having been noting the rise of linux & I
would argue especially those who are currently un/semi-employed.
D/L some ISO'es & start training. No purchase neccessary.
