Call to send migrants into desert

AUSTRALIA'S first Muslim political party wants immigrants to live in
the desert for 40 years and a 2.5 per cent flat tax rate.
   
It also excuses terrorism and promotes conspiracy theories.

The Best Party of Allah in Australia that applied for registration 
in the ACT yesterday aims to enrol at the federal level as soon as
possible.

Party president and founder Kurt Kennedy said it would act as a voice
for Muslims and promote peace and understanding, but a website it has
set up suggests otherwise.

"We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve because
they had joined others in worship with Allah, for which he had sent no
authority," is one verse purportedly from the Koran and quoted on the
party's site.

Another page outlining party policies comes close to advocating
terrorism as a legitimate response to the US-led invasions of Iraq 
and Afghanistan in 2003 and 2001.

"The invaders gave the reason for the invasion based on a fear of
emerging Islamic militancy but were actually based on greed for oil
and greed for markets," the site reads.

"Islamic militancy has only always been used as a defensive and never
an attacking measure. The insurgency will not stop until the invaders
acknowledge their mistakes, apologise, compensate, leave (with tails
between their legs just as they have left Vietnam) and punished for
their crimes."
