Always an interesting exercise to "speculate" what a given area would/will
be like in say fifty years if the current trends remain. Just think about
Southern California. What will it be like if the majority is Hispanic?

North? Would a Hispanic DC be "better" than a "Euro-American" DC? (Actually,
just what does constitute "better"?)
Actually, I can't think of a time (or place) in history where there hasn't
been _some_ form of DC usually to the detriment of any minority who's one
identifier is being "different".
I consider myself to be part of a dominateD culture because I am "different"
than many of the "Dominant Culture". More than one person has said I am not
like the "average American" .
Oh... and in this part of the country, it is beginning to look like the
"government workers" (policemen, firemen, schoolteachers, politicians,
judges, etc.) ARE the Dominant Culture. Politicians and judges simply
overturn the "will of the people". The schoolteachers have one of the most
powerful unions and lobbying groups in the state. Police and fire simply say
"We can't protect you unless we have more money."
I am always amazed by the _decrease_ in "rush hour traffic" on government
holidays. To me it is an indication of just how many people are on a
"government payroll".
