Well, mainly, I don't want it to kick on when the water is hot enough
straing from the solar tanks. You see - the thermostrat is busted, it
kicks on anytime water flows. So, I just turn it off.

I turn it back on during those periods.

I have a GE dishwasher. It will heat the water, if it is not at the
proper temperature. Yes, it uses more electricity, but there is a net
savings in cost and my time servicint the pilot.
