BK>>>> Yet the cattle farmers have much the same expenses in producing
BK>>>> the beef, no matter what is selling. True feed prices will drop
BK>>>> as the demand drops, but the time delay in adjustment will do
BK>>>> it's damage. And the suppliers face their cost factors just like
 BK>>>> the farmer.

TW>>> Actualy FEED prices are WAY up because of the LIBERAL IDIOT
TW>>> decision to make Alcohol out of a FOOD/FEED Crop.

BA> Distiller's grain is used as feed for cattle and hogs.
 BA> Look it up.

And the point of that is? Does it matter what grain is used? If
you are referring to the grain after it has been through the
distiller, I doubt all cattle feed is from distilleries.

BK>> A: The feed companies and energy companies are not liberals, and
 BK>> they jumped into bio-fuel.

BK>> B: Early on I denounced bio-fuel as in a world where people are
BK>> going hungry turning food into fuel is immoral.

BA> The claim is also nonsense. You obviously would prefer
BA> that the grain just rot.

You obviously would prefer the grain just ferment.

Makes as much sense as what you said.

 And how about feeding people?

BK>> I also posted a msg in which I asked how many children have to
BK>> die to fuel an SUV.

BA> More baloney. In point of fact much if not most of the
BA> grain grown in this country is used to feed cattle and
 BA> hogs, not people.

Are the cattle and hogs kept as pets? Pull wagons? Or fed to
people? Anyway you chose to look at it, grain that goes for
alcohol fuel reduces grain for feeding people.

BK>>>> Chrysler is cutting employeement compensation.

TW>>> Glad you bought up Chrysler. For decades the UNION GOIONS
TW>>> have been blaming the POOR quality Chrysler Cars on
 TW>>> Management.

BK>> Which is a valid point. Quality is 100% a management perogative.

BA> It wasn't management that failed to put a nut on the bolt
BA> in the brake linkage of my brand new 1976 Aspen, and it
BA> wasn't management that failed to notice that missing nut in
 BA> a quality inspection.

Yeah, it was, by proxy. Pretty much anything can happen once. If
it happens often, then it is a management problem, because
management isn't fixing the problem. If QC missed it, that's
still a managment problem, because QC is a management
 perogative.

If QC is anything there like it is here, the QC inspectors are
under the production supervisors. So, if they find they have a
backup, they will pull a QC inspector and put him on the
production line to clear the backup.

QC should be independent of production, with authority over what
 ships and what doesn't.

TW>>> Well a proposal in the Restructuring of
TW>>> Chrysler, who has been bankrupted by the UNIONS, has the

BK>> Why not by management? After all, Toyota doesn't pay much less,
BK>> has full benefits, and has a policy similar to the UAW job bank.

BA> Toyota doesn't have a zillion retired workers, their
 BA> dependents and/or survivors.

And that says Toyota was not part of building our economy. Now
they want to come in and feed off it, with no responsibility to
 those who did build it.

Pensions are paid out of pension funds, which are *NOT* part of
current cash flow, unless the company failed to fully fund the
pensions. In that case it is still a management failure.

Medical care is on the company in this country, but Toyota
enjoys national health care in Japan, and no responsibility in
 this country.

BK>> They employ American workers. In Japan they are unionized. Why aren't
 BK>> they going broke?

TW>>> UNION getting a 55% Stake in Chrysler. SO they wil have to
TW>>> NOT only Talk the Talk butut wil have to Walk the Walk.
TW>>> Wanna bet they cannot do it and Chrysler Cars wil STILL be
TW>>> CRAP with them in the Driver seat. ---

On the way to work this AM I was listening to the news about
this. Seems the Union is *NOT* getting those shares in Chrysler,
the Health care trust fund is. And the union is getting a seat
on the Board of Directors, but it's a non-voting seat.

BK>> About 10 years ago I did quite a bit of traveling, which
BK>> involved renting cars or vans. Of all the vans, I found the
BK>> Dodge Caravan to be the best.

BK>> The Taurus had a reputation among the top. I drove a lot of ford
BK>> Escorts, and liked them. Chevy had some nice cars also.

BK>> The Saturn was supposedly a top brand, so why is GM considering
 BK>> closing it out?

BA> Money. Plus it's a non-union operation and GM is kowtowing
BA> to the UAW - under government pressure to do so.

I very much doubt that last part. The union is giving in on most
 everything.

And if it's money, then why give up a popular brand?
