Never run Solaris, so I cannot comment, but I have gotten DOS doors to run 
using DOSEMU in the past, When I updated my Linux Distro (Slackware) DOSEMU 
was no longer officially supported, and I never got around to getting the 
source and compiling myself, I run MBSE BBS, which is a full featured Linux 
native BBS package.

However I have ordered a copy of the current Open Solaris to have a look at, 
but from the sound of things hardware support is not that great ... , will see 
when it gets here ...
