No, you don't. node.js allows to run Javascript outside of a browser
environment. It's focused on server-side web development -- but that
kinda makes sense: if you're developing a web thing, it helps if the
server- and the browser-side of the equation are written in the same
language (so you don't always have to switch language when you switch
from server to client or vice versa; and you can share some code between
the two where that makes sense)
