hI Andy,
Get somebody to ck both upper & lower sidebands as you switch them, on
the same freq.. I'd suspect the carrier osc. isn't centered between the
filters, one SB'll sound bassy, one "tight" or weak. Often an easy adj to
make on the air that way. Which mic are you using on the Drake, the
"unknown" Johnson? Try the D-104, that's what I use most of the time, get
great reports (keep the level low). (just re-read, maybe you tried them
both, OK. Probably the T-T mic on the OMNI)
