Apparently the information you got is wrong. This is the only one way to
add more stuff to the A1200. In fact this is the most convenient way to
upgrade to a 4000, without paing 5000 dollars!
The tower system consists of a tower case (as the ones in the IBM
comoputers), power supply, and the most impotrant thing, the
BusExpansionBoard. This BusExpansionBoard, when connected to the A1200
gives you 5 Zorro II slots and 4 PC slots as well. All you have to do is
coonect the A1200 to this board put it in the tower system and then you
will be able to plug in any kind of Zorro II cards such as: Emplants,
Picasso II, Serial Cards, Mutiface III, Memeory cards, etc etc. You can use
all the cards that are compatible in any A2000. Also cards for A3000 and
A4000 can be used as long as they are Zorro II cards.
My tower cost me 1399 when I got it around 3 months ago.
I sell it for 890 and also have a Serail card for 70 dollards. The cards
will give you 2 extr Serial Ports for your new Tower Amiga 1200. (total of
3 ports)
