That can get a bit messy if you choose to keep your system on
DST, or you have one of those accurate system time utes in use.

Thats even messier than keeping the last used number,
you have to keep more than just the last used.

Guess it might be pretty robust to keep track of the last
used, and increment for the next, and if none exists, JUST
use that seconds since 1970 as the START of a sequence.
