You made some excellent points in this post. Regarding the number of books in the Bible, I saw an interesting piece on the History Channel which stated no one really knows how many books of the Bible there might have been. It appears there were so many books written about the very popular story of Christ, there were possibly thousands of books (scrolls)written. Only a few have been recovered as it was stated there was a shortage of firewood in the years following the writings. Religious scrolls were plentiful and found to be more important to be used as kindling than as prophetic teachings. The ones that were recovered and saved from fires are in fact what one would consider yet another book of the New Testament. -- Regards, -= Joe =- --- Thunderbird 2.0.0.21 (Macintosh/20090302)* Origin: Fidonet Via Newsreader - http://www.easternstar.info (1:123/789.0) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 11/331 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/2 140/1 226/0 236/150 SEEN-BY: 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1410 1418 266/1413 SEEN-BY: 280/1027 633/260 267 712/848 800/432 2222/700 2320/100 105 200 2905/0 @PATH: 123/789 500 261/38 633/260 267 |
