IRAN , SYRIA, PUSHING PROPHETIC LIMITS

WASH-MNA-Oct 3-This past week two seemingly unrelated events took
place that may have prophetic significance over the next few months-
American invasion of a Iraqi town that borders Syria and a member of
the Israeli Knesset saying Israel may have to act militarily if Iran
continues unimpeded on its nuclear development path.

The U.S. military in Iraq launched "Operation Iron Fist" in the small
town of Sadah in an effort to flush out terrorists who have been
pouring in from Syria to help fight against Americans and Iraqis. 
The town of 2,000 is known to be a layover for insurgents entering 
the war. Sadah is a village of about 2,000 people on the banks of 
the Euphrates River about eight miles from the Syrian border in Iraq's
western province of Anbar. The isolated community has one main road
and about 200 houses scattered over a rural area.

Meanwhile, a member of the Knesset, speaking before the presidents of
major American Jewish organizations, said that if the world community
does not take action against Iran for its nuclear program, Israel
will. Member of the Kenesset Yosef Lapid told a closed briefing at the
conference that unless the world and the United States act to curb
Iran's nuclear aspirations, "Israel will have to act." Lapid said he
was speaking as opposition leader and that he did not express Israel's
official position.

Meantime, in the background is the relationship with Iran and Syria
which goes back over 1,200 years. The two countries already have a
mutual military protection pact in place. And they are inextricably
linked, even to the point of coordinating their moves on the
chessboard of international politics-the pull out in Lebanon by Syria,
for example, was only done after considerable consultations with Iran.
And even in that evacuation, the terrorist group Hezbollah, which is
based in Iran, was established as the main political force in Lebanon
to fill the vacuum left by the Syrians.

There are two major events in end time prophecy that occur before the
return of Christ-the destruction of Damascus, Syria and the Gog-Magog
battle against Israel. That Syria would provoke the U.S. into cleaning
out border towns with Iraq because of terrorists crossing over from

Syria to fight against Americans after fairly intense diplomatic
efforts behind the scenes to stop them, is a telltale sign of possible
future military actions. Likewise, Iran, leveraging its oil with
prophetic end time powers Russia and China to block international
sanctions as it continues developing its nuclear program, shows speed
progress toward an end time battle-especially as Israel sends a clear
message that it will strike Iran if the international community
doesn't stop Iran's nuke program.

The weeks and months ahead may well reveal how close the world is
coming to the prophecy of Isaiah 17:1, "Behold, Damascus is taken away
from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap;" and the
proclamation of God against Russia and the nations that follow her
against Israel in Ezekiel 39:4, "You shall fall upon the mountains of
Israel, you and all your bands, and the people that is with you." It
is time to prepare your heart and do as Jesus said in Matthew 24:14,
"And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for
a witness unto all the nations; and then shall the end come."
