It is called rotational lock. Has nothing to do with the concavity of the
moon's orbit as perceived in a frame of reference stationary to the sun.

Correct. Tidal frictiion causes rotational momentum to be transferred from
the earth rotation to the lunar orbit. The earth rotation slows down and
the moon goes into a higher orbit. (Thereby also slowing down oddly
enough).

No, it will not stop, its period of rotation will become equal to the
orbital period of the moon. So the earth will always turn the same side to
the moon. The sun however will still rise in the east and set in the west.
But it will take MUCH longer....

The length of the year (as measured against the atomic clock that we use
now) is not affected. So if one measures age in years, there is no effect.

In the past days were shorter, so if age is measured in days, people got
older in the past. However...

 > does that make sense? i sure hope so...

Nah, the effect exists, but it is many orders of magnitude too small. I do
not have the figures at hand, but think of milli seconds per century.

It can not explain Methusalem living 900 years.
