I was rather harsh and I apologize. I'm still recovering from being
attacked (I kid you not) in another echo about my choice of operating
systems and I'm still a little irritated. Over the years, I've been
pestered, kidded, prodded and generally malaligned because I've nearly
always run OS/2 for my BBS (save for the very short time I was running
Synchronet v3.x). I've also gotten it for programming in Pascal, so I'm
short-tempered at times when I shouldn't be.
As for the Pascal stuff, it's around. There's actually a GCC Pascal
compiler, but I don't know anything about it. I do know that writing stuff
for Linux is different than regular doors as you don't have a local console
like you do with the other "big three" OSes for BBSing.
You might want to check the PASCAL echo for more stuff. Right now, I wish
I could figure out how the hell to use the Pascal structures for Maximus as
I am writing a CGI for the last 10 callers, but the thing just doesn't
work. Unfortunately, I've so little C experience that I can't properly
read the Pascal structures and the comments (Scott had a weird way of
programming, I've been told).
Later,
Sean
