Sorry to respond here....  You may want to locate a K12Net BBS in your area. 
Although it is not specifically homeschool, the areas are heavily curriculum 
focused, and there are chat areas divided into grade level.  One of the 
pluses is that access is somewhat restricted to educational use.  It tends to 
keep a lot of the riff-raff of the network.
