For Fido stuff, no compression would be the best, as it is already
compressed. For Internet PPP/SLIP connection, V.42bis is highly recommanded,
it WILL make your page load MUCH faster... unless you are FTP only (hum?
what's E-Mail? What's newsgroup? what's WWW? only FTP is fun! ;) ), I
recommand turning on the compression...
... That's not a "bug", that's a feature!
