If you have an error-correcting connection, you probably won't. The modem
takes care of the line error before it ever gets to the ZModem driver.

Same thing. The modems will handle the error, and you won't actually see it.
It will manifest itself in sluggish screens, pause in the data stream on a
download, lower throughput. You -might- see an occaisional timeout error
from ZModem if it doesn't receive a packet in a timely manner.
PR> I plan to seriously look into this possibility.
You'd be surprised how much of a difference it makes.

If you can't hear carrier noise from your modem line when you pick up your
voice line, you're probably ok there.

Indeed. Bad punches, load coils, bridge taps all make a mess on the phone
lines.

As we all do. Nobody like to have a corvette that won't do the speed limit.
Your modem isn't an RPI model by any chance?
