well i have severn beta with did not work on my ibm server with smp cpu, i
did go back to redhat 9 there and it installed in the first run without any
troubles at all, all the rest did not install a mbr :-)

if you like to have fun, try fedora :-)

(the rest is: windows nt 4, freebsd 4.9, all of my other linux iso files)

PS: fedora rpms is backported to redhat 8 and 9, yubi :-)
