Howdy, All!
Let's listen in on what Scott R. Godin muttered to Jesse Spurway
JS> I've been thinking about doing a little recording in my home. I write
JS> songs and want to do rough recordings for the Song Writers' meetings.
JS> I can't afford the $60 to $100 recording fee each time I want to demo
JS> a song...songs change.
JS> I went to a local store and ask about low end recording. I was steered
JS> toward the Tascam (?) 03 (about $250).
SRG> I prefer the Tascam Porta 2 myself. Used it for years until I got my
SRG> present TSR-8 1/2" system. Have the same SE/30 but use Master Tracks
SRG> Pro. (at least until recently when I picked up Vision for a song... :)
SRG> You should also look into picking up a good multi effect rack used,
SRG> like the Roland DEP-5 or SPX-90 or something similar.
I'm looking for some of the same stuff, but thinking more on the lines
of a 16 track studio. Have experience with a Studio Master 16x16x4
board, a Tascam 16 track 1/2" Reel-to-reel, Emax II keyboard, and
PROteus effects rack. Looking for something similar for *my*
endeavors. Any suggestions, y'all?
Seasons Greetings!
