actually, binkp.net replaces the old fidonet.net in that it provides the
standard conversion between fidonet addresses and their internet
equivelent... the only "rough" part being that the second level
domain name has changed from "fidonet" to "binkp"...
other than that, everything else is exactly the same...

but it should also be noted, as you demonstrated IIRC, that fidonet.net
address conversion is still working because it appears that the DNS domain
server operators for that domain still have control over them even though
the domain appears to have changed hands... BUT when that stops working,
then some folk will /HAVE/ to change their software...
