So, I was watching a commercial for the upcoming STARGATE ATLANTIS
episode: "Kindred, part 1".

They were showing all the usual "teases" and hints.

Not bad, so far... until they get to the end.

They announce: "You won't believe what happens in the last 5 minutes!"

You would think that the commercial would show only the looks of
astonishment and shock on the characters' faces, and leave it at
that.  Fade off and leave us wanting more.

But nooooooooo!  They couldn't leave well enough alone!!

They actually show the shocker of the last 5 minutes.  How dumb is
that?!?

All that build-up and surprise created by the writers and actors,
ruined by one stupid move by the uncreative people who have no idea
how to keep their mouths shut!

When I first saw the commercial, I said to myself: "That couldn't be
the last 5 minutes.  Maybe the writers had been planning something
even bigger!"

Nope.  [SIGHS]

Just when I think that "skiffy" can't be any dumber, it continues to
prove that it doesn't know a thing about its audience or the "product"
it is selling.

By the way, you may have noticed that I didn't mention what the
spoiler is.  And I won't either. But if you have seen the episode, you
will know what I am talking about.

Avoid Sci-Fi Channel commercials like the plague... if possible.  It
is bad enough that they still have commercials INSIDE the episode,
too.

In fact, during the very same episode, I was shocked when these tiny
characters (from another series) just walked across the screen.  But
then I had to laugh when one of them turned to look suddenly at
something off-screen.  You see he had stopped at just the right moment
to apparently look down a very pregnant Teyla's cleavage!
