subject: Dogs and food

HI Jim,

JW> And ours can't be allowed to free feed. They get into the food
JW> bucket as it is. We took a 40 lb. kitty litter bucket and cut a
JW> circular hole in the top to set the dog food dish in. We keep it
JW> filled with their food and refill as needed from the enclosed porch
JW> supply which is in a Vittles Vault. Well, our boys figured out how
JW> to take the bowl out and stick their heads through the hole to pig
JW> out! We added a 10 pound rock to the bowl after the dog finishes,
JW> but Buddy has removed it and still gets into the bucket if left
JW> alone in the kitchen. Therefore he is no longer left alone in the
JW> kitchen! We've installed baby gates to keep them out of the
JW> kitchen!

Hmmm, don't think that would work with Schatze. SHe could jump one of
those baby gates I think. OUr dog food supply is in one of those wheeled
dog food containers and she stays out of it, though it latches fairly
securely. STill there's always food down for her, so she has no need.

Regards,
           Richard
