RF> I know it takes alot of investment to become a teacher.
MS> "A lot of investment"?
I know of three people that made it all the way throught he process then gave
up when it came time for the state peperwork for certification. Here in CT,
they make it as confusing as possible and the phone is always buty, they will
not let you make an appointment to discuss it.
We have three levels of certification which requires more $$$ with each
vel.
There is a preliminary which costs $100 a year for 5 years if you don't have
an immediate position and you plan on looking.
There is a second level which costs $100 if you do.
There is another certification that is needed after 8 (?) years, I forget
what that costs.
The information is available only in lengthy documents that are exetemly
difficult to understand. As i said, three friends reached this level, then
settled for employment in other fields.
None of these certification require any advanced knowledge, tests, or review.
They seem to be only revenue raising obsticals placed to fustrate. Maybe
the "investment" is more at the level of mental aggravation.
