YEp, used to give BUddy my doberman/shepherd/dane mix a pill and a quarter
a day. HE thought they were treats.

FOr awhile even after the once monthly pills came out I still had him on
the daily regime because he didn't take pills well. YET he thought the
daily heartworm pills were treats, made it much easier. OTherwise we stuff
pill in, hold mouth shut and rub throat.

My ex wife tried everything to get him to take pills. Both of us being
blind I made her only administer meds in the kitchen with nice hard floor
so we'd heard where the pill hit when he dislodged it from whatever it was
buried in.

Then my circumstances changed and I had to board buddy or leave him in the
care of others while I traveled, sometimes for weeks at a time on business.
HEnce we went to the once a month dosage.

At the time at least we lived in Iowa, hard freezes, no skeeters in the
winter months.

Regards,
           Richard
