AK>> PM> championship!
AK>>Lets see how the summer heat effects them. The Rangers always seem to
AK>>falter when august rolls around. They do have good looking ballclub.
Lessee, last year, I believe the World Series was won by Atlanta. If
memory serves me right, it gets pretty hot in Atlanta in August, too.
The Rangers have swooned before in August, but I don't think that
August is the critical part of the season for them this year. In the
past, the Rangers had a very one dimensional baseball team. Although I
am still not very comfortable with the starting pitching, the ball
club has a much more solid bench and bullpen than ever before, and
the manager is much more even keeled than recent guys like Kevin
Kennedy and Bobby Valentine. He keeps them focused on the task at
hand. Need more proof of that? Look at the O's record under Oates and
then look at what has transpired since. Look at the Rangers record
under Kennedy and what has happened in Texas since (and Boston).
No the critical time of this season is right now through July 21, when
the Rangers play 21 straight games against the AL West, where they
have always played thier poorest baseball. So far, they haveheld thier
own against the East and the Central, but a lot of the 96 tale of the
Rangers will be told in the next few weeks.
